BoX: (The Midas Series Book 2)

How far would you go to save yourself? Would you compromise your religion, morals, or integrity to avoid death?

Twenty-seven people wake up to discover they are imprisoned in isolation cubes. They are forced to endure multiple trials in an experiment designed to test the limits of human nature.

In each cube is a pistol. During any test an individual can use the gun to end the torment and take their own life. In doing so, they believe the test would immediately end for everyone and potentially save the lives of others.

Would you lay down your life to save another? Would you pass the tests?

It's the ultimate trial for human nature and the will to stay alive.

Would you survive the experiment?

Reviews

Ron: 4/5 Stars: My kind of science fiction, I really liked this. A sinister eXperiment that, as it unfolds, has the reader trying to figure out: Do the subjects have connections? What objectives does the eXperiment have? What technology is being used? Who is behind it? What happened to the world outside the eXperiment? These questions compelled me to the next page. Trying to figure out the mysteries. A good mix science and future. Blurred lines between who is good and who is bad. A view into why people are compelled to do evil things. I liked it for what it hinted at as much as what was resolved.

Keep 'em coming Lucas.

Alissa 5/5 Stars: A good quick read on a rainy morning, leaving you wanting more. The action is quick giving you no time to rest before the next heart-wrenching development occurs. ook.

Dee 5/5 Stars: This book grabs you by the collar and won't let go until you have reached the end. Wow!! It is a must read.

Noel 5/5 Stars: After reading the sample, I couldn't let this one go and had to purchase the full text.

The story/plot is immensely interesting and well thought-out. It pulls you along. I ended up finishing the book in a day. The good of this is that it meant that it was very well written. The bad is that I wanted to keep reading and find out more about the characters. Hopefully the story will continue with more books in the near future. I was definitely always thinking about what I would do in this situation and found it very easy to step into each characters shoes (or lack-thereof) and understand them. The author obviously spent a great deal of time thinking out the story. It is complex but well-written and understandable. The story is really marvelous. I suppose the only criticism I have is the length--I want more! I'm anxious to find out more about these people and the story. Also; the ending seemed slightly rushed. Without giving anything away, I wish there would have been more time spent in the experiment.
